Family mobility in 17th Century Derbyshire
Mike Spencer has been good enough to send me a copy of the settlement document for Jeremiah Gregory. Jeremiah moved from Baslow to Birchover and then to Eckington and then back to Birchover again in 1699. This document lends weight to my theory that the Gregory’s may have moved to the Youlgrave area from Calver.
The document shows that the Gregorys were granted permission to leave Birchover and then to resettle again if need be.
*I would reproduce the whole document, however, I feel that would infringe upon Mike who is charging for the copies.
