This tree is of my adopted Grandfather, Edwin Gregory, b.1900, Tideswell, Derbyshire.

Here in Part 2, you can see a brilliant coincidence. Note the name MARSDEN. Abraham Gregory’s mother was a Marsden. Now the Marsdens were a family with Derbyshire roots in Baslow; they’d migrated to the area from the TOCKHOLES area of Lancashire. Here’s the amazing coincidence. Gregory is my adoptive family’s name. They adopted me from Manchester.
My birth Mother, whose parents were both Irish, her mother was a Marsden who, when I traced back, had an English ancestor who hailed from…you guessed it, Baslow. So to clarify, my adoptive father’s family is connected to my actual birth mother’s direct line. Weird!
*I later found out that my adoptive mother is also connected to the Marsdens too and that my adoptive mother and I had a tiny DNA match.
*It’s important to note that I am a sandbox kinda guy – I often publish my trees without being 100% sure – it’s like showing the workings. James B 167- I hypothesise that Thomas is his father, followed by Edward and Edward SNR – could be wrong though.
